The latest survey on French income by INSEE is final: income inequalities increased in 2018.
The figures taken into account by INSEE are those for 2018, before the continued growth of the economy in 2019 then its collapse with the Covid crisis. These two factors are unlikely to have changed the game since, with unemployment raging on one side, and the stock market having almost returned to its pre- Covid level on the other.
"The standard of living of the wealthiest households is increasing markedly. […] That of the most modest households is declining, mainly due to a drop in housing allowances".
