India: Maya Hanoomanjee formalizes her role as High Commissioner of Mauritius

During a virtual accreditation ceremony, the former Speaker of the National Assembly, Maya Hanoomanjee, presented his credentials as the new High Commissioner for the Republic of Mauritius to the Great Peninsula, to the president of the Republic of India, Ramnath Kovind.

Drawing on her priorities as the new High Commissioner, Maya Hanoomanjee underlined the privileged relationship between the two Republics. India's assistance in numerous projects was also highlighted, notably for the light rail project, as well as for the construction of the new Supreme Court building and the ENT hospital.

The High Commissioner also expressed his deep gratitude for the donation of medical and protective equipment, received from the Indian authorities, in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
