The number of millionaires skyrocketed in 2019 to 51.9 million globally, but declined in the first half of 2020, driven by the global pandemic.
Each year, Credit Suisse publishes its Global Wealth Report. A veritable mine of information which provides a precise and complete vision of the wealth of households around the world. The report estimates that at the start of this year, there were 175,690 very wealthy adults at the top of the pyramid of wealth with net worth of over $ 50 million. Their total number increased by 16,760 (11%) last year, but fell by 120 in the first half of 2020, so it has risen to 16,640 since the start of 2019.
