(Education) According to Afrobarometer study: Teachers held accountable for high failure rate

A study carried out by Afrobarometer, represented in Mauritius by StraConsult Ltd, highlights the concern of Mauritians about the high failure rate at the School Certificate level in secondary institutions.

"Parents are very worried about the situation in secondary schools and, mainly, by the failure rate recorded during the second trimester and during the School Certificate exams" , observes Amédée Darga. He believes that the “lack of teachers is not unrelated to this situation” .
