The closure of internal borders between states and the general confinement, announced without warning, has deprived millions of Indians of work and disrupted supply circuits

In front of his small vegetable stall, the man in his forties is desperate. To set up his business, he had  to borrow from sharks. But I don't make enough money anymore, because there are no more customers ”. Like millions of street vendors or daily workers, he is about to hit the road, to join his family in the countryside, in the neighboring state of Tamil Nadu. Or at least 350 km on foot, if he can cross the border ...  Over there at least I can eat
